About the work

Interior explores Christina Fedyk’s interest in accumulated marks, fragmented forms and the traces left through the process of making.

Built through layers of oil-based ink and mixed media, the surface is worked and reworked, allowing earlier marks to remain visible beneath later interventions. Lines, shapes and areas of texture overlap, giving the work a sense of history and continual change.

Here, the composition feels particularly spatial. Loosely drawn forms, blocks of ochre and black, and intersecting lines suggest the fragments of an interior without describing a specific place. Objects seem to emerge and recede within the surface, shifting between recognisable forms and abstraction.

The result feels less like a depiction of a room than a memory of one, assembled from glimpses, marks and relationships between objects and space.
