About the work
USA: Tumbling is part of Linda Burris Webster's Cartographica series, in which maps are transformed into intricate sculptural forms before being photographed.
The map of the United States is broken into individual cubes, scattered and turned in different directions. This fragmented composition suggests a country of contrasting perspectives and divisions, inviting us to consider the complexities of its national identity.
