About the work

Greece: Thresholds is part of Linda Burris Webster's Cartographica series, in which maps are transformed into intricate sculptural forms before being photographed.

The map of Greece is cut and woven into sweeping, interlocking ribbons, creating a composition that appears both fluid and unsettled. Through its carefully constructed layers, Linda invites us to reflect on ideas of belonging, displacement and the human experiences that lie beyond geographical borders.
